Dynamo Braking Grid Resistor

The dynamo braking grid resistor is installed in the electric locomotive and consumes current generated during dynamo braking through resistance. The dynamo braking grid resistor is installed in the machine room of the electric locomotive to gain braking current by loading power generated by 6 traction motors (functioning as generators during dynamo braking.

Charging Device for the Electric Locomotiv... 
- Overview
The charging device is installed between the central battery box of the machine room of the electric locomotive and the main transformer. The charging device controls AC 380V of input voltage and DC 70V of output voltage of the auxiliary transformer, and charges 48-cell T75-type alkali batteries.
Cabin Control Console

The cabin control console consists of manipulation devices and the meter panel to enable the engineman to operate the locomotive.

Relay Box 
- Overview and Features
In the relay box, NFBs and S/W kinds for relays and circuit breakers are connected to transmit electric signals between machines.
The relay box breaks the circuit by detecting troubles using circuit breakers and relays.
As a battery connection switch, the relay box supplies and blocks initial batter power.
Monitoring Devices for Electric Locomotive... 
- Overview
Install display units in Driving Room 1 and 2, and the control unit in the driving room. Functions of the Control Unit The monitoring device monitors operation status of the train, records data, and saves it in the memory. Then, the display unit sends operation status of the train to the engineman, and ground equipments check the operation status of the train and other relays through the data stored. In this way, exact trouble analysis of the train and early trouble detection are possible. In case a trouble occurs, the trouble cause and measures taken will be presented.
Electronic Controller 
- Overview The electronic controller is installed next to the second rectifier box within the machine room of the electric locomotive. The electronic controller is to detect and control voltage and current supplied to the traction motor during traction, and field voltage and current supplied to the traction motor during powergeneration braking. In other words, the electronic controller controls as much as the engineman does with the master controller, and detects current and generated voltage by supplied voltage in the traction motor to adjust output. In this way, the electronic controller prevents over output or overload.
